Process
Seven steps, then it runs every month.
Nothing here requires you to change supplier, replace a meter, or install anything on site. It requires access to your invoices and the authority to ask questions on your behalf.
Authority
You sign a letter of authority naming Influx Pulse as your representative for billing and consumption matters. It is scoped to data and billing queries. It does not let us change anything on your account.
Invoices reach us
Either you forward them to a dedicated intake address, or we set up an automated feed. We work from clean digital PDFs or a data feed only — never scans or phone photographs.
Extraction
Each invoice is read automatically: account, meter, consumption, tariff, fixed and capacity charges, period, VAT, total. Extraction is checked rather than trusted — anything ambiguous is reviewed by a person.
Validation
The charges are recalculated from first principles and compared with what you were billed. Tariff applied, slab boundaries, days in period, meter read continuity, capacity charge against contracted capacity.
Exceptions
Anything that fails validation, or that moves without an explanation, is flagged with the reason and the amount at stake. You get a short list of things worth looking at, not a data dump.
Reporting
Consumption and spend across the estate, site league tables, trend against the same period last year, and a running record of every exception raised and how it was resolved.
Challenge
Where there is a genuine case, we raise it with the utility or cooling provider and pursue it — with the evidence attached, through the proper route, and with you copied throughout.
Then it repeats
Month two onwards is the same cycle with less setup. The value compounds — the more billing history we hold, the sharper the anomaly detection gets.
What we need from you
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Signed letter of authority | So we can query billing and request data on your behalf |
| A site and meter list | To build the hierarchy everything else reports against |
| Historic invoices — as far back as you hold | Baseline, tariff confirmation, and the backward-looking audit |
| Digital PDFs or a data feed | Clean input is the difference between reliable extraction and guesswork |
| One named contact | Someone who can answer “did anything change at this site?” quickly |
On scanned bills. We do not accept photocopies, scans or photographs of invoices. Extraction from poor-quality images produces errors, and an error in validation is worse than no validation at all. If your bills only exist on paper, we should talk about fixing that first.
The platform
Influx Pulse runs on Microsoft Azure with Power BI as the reporting layer. Your data sits in your own tenancy structure, access is controlled, and everything we produce is exportable — you are not locked into a viewer you cannot get data out of.
- Azure-hosted, with access control per user and per site
- Power BI reporting, embedded and exportable
- Automated extraction with human review on anything uncertain
- A complete audit trail — every exception, every challenge, every outcome
Want to see it against your own data?
Send us a few months of invoices from two or three sites. We will run them through and show you what comes back.
