We would rather tell you no early.

Influx Pulse works well for a specific shape of organisation and badly for everyone else. Here is the honest version of both, so you can decide in about a minute.

A good fit looks like this

Multi-site

Typically ten locations or more. The value comes from comparison across sites, which needs sites to compare.

Many meters

Often more meters than sites — separate electricity, water and cooling supplies per location. Volume is what makes manual checking impossible and automation worthwhile.

Meaningful spend

Utility cost is large enough that a few percent matters to someone's budget, and large enough to justify the attention.

Manual reconciliation today

Someone is checking invoices in a spreadsheet, or nobody is checking them at all. Both are the problem we solve.

One payer

A single decision-maker responsible for utility cost across the whole estate. This matters more than anything else on this list.

Clean digital bills

Invoices arrive as proper PDFs or through a data feed. If they only exist as paper or photographs, we need to fix that first.

Where we usually start

Two profiles fit this shape particularly well. Own-metered retail chains — many small sites, one payer, utility cost that is material against thin margins. And logistics and cold-chain operators, where cooling and power are a large, continuous and closely watched cost.

That is where we are focusing first. It does not mean we will not talk to you if you sit elsewhere and the traits above fit.

Not a fit

  • Single-site businesses. One site has nothing to compare against, and a competent person can check one set of bills themselves.
  • Residential property. Different billing structure, different regulation, not what this is built for.
  • Small businesses. The spend does not justify the engagement, and we would be taking money for very little.
  • Landlord-paid utilities. If your landlord pays the utility and recharges you, we cannot validate an invoice you never receive. Your issue is the recharge basis in your lease, which is a different conversation — and one we are happy to point you in the right direction on.
  • Paper-only billing. We do not work from scans or photographs. Extraction from poor images produces errors, and wrong validation is worse than none.

Still not sure?

The quickest test: could you tell us, today, how many utility meters your organisation pays for? If the answer is no, and finding out would take somebody a week, you are almost certainly the right shape of client.

Let's find out in one conversation.

Twenty minutes and a rough site count is enough for both of us to know whether this goes any further.
